The Tyk Side Project Fund

Funding promoter is Tyk Technologies Ltd (company no. 9727592) (“Sponsor” or “Tyk”) whose registered office is at 87a Worship Street, London, United Kingdom EC2A 2BE.

Entry period

The entry period will end on the application deadline 20th December as detailed on side project fund page.

Entry fee

There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

Additional obligations for all micro-grant winners

The Micro-Grant side project funding is open to anyone aged 18 years or over except employees of Tyk and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the funding.

All winners of Sponsor’s Micro-Grant programme agree in good faith to allow the Sponsor to share your project with its tech community and various tech publications and media, on its website and social channels.

Additional rules for simple agreement for future equity structure investment winners/securities acknowledgement.

Sponsor will not hold any equity in your side project. The Sponsor’s contributions to the micro-grant programme to pay for products and services for side projects to a maximum grant value of £500. Receipts of purchases made using the micro-grant monies will be required.

Additional entry rules:

Only one entry will be accepted per application. However, any applicant can submit multiple applications for different projects, but not different applications for the same project.

Any late, lost, misdirected, incorrect, or incomplete entries will be disqualified. The Sponsor will not be responsible for such entries.

By submitting an entry, you agree that your entry and/or any other content or information provided by you in connection with the application (including personal information of individual applicants) may be used by the Sponsor in accordance with its privacy policy.

The Sponsor expressly reserves the right to disqualify any entries that it believes in good faith are generated by automated means or scripts or otherwise result from any unsportsmanlike or disruptive conduct, and all such associated entries shall be void. An entrant or winner may be disqualified from the process at Sponsor’s sole discretion.

The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove any application for any reason including, but not limited to, if the applicant submits any inappropriate content, infringes the rights of any third party, violates any applicable laws or regulations, has or is acting in any way that is harmful to Sponsor’s goodwill or reputation. Further, the Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any applicant who, in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, is deemed to be offensive, slanderous, inflammatory, or otherwise inappropriate in any way for this application process. Sponsor reserves the right to present funding to a runner-up applicant in the event an entry is found to be in violation of any rules.

Insofar as permitted by law, the Sponsor, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize or micro-grant except where it is caused by the negligence of the Sponsor, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected. 

Decisions of the Sponsor are final and binding with respect to all matters related to the application process. In no event shall the Sponsor be obligated to award any prize or micro-grant that is not agreed on. If you are successful, Tyk will make a payment directly to a product or service provider that you have specific – or an alternative that we suggest – that you need for your side project to grow.

Please allow at least sixty (60) days for delivery of agreed funding. Use and/or receipt may be subject to additional terms and conditions.

If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, Tyk may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition. Tyk reserves the right to void, suspend, cancel, or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Funding selection

Each application will be assessed by a selection panel. All applications are judged based on which side project shows great potential and where we can offer the best help. Applications will be filtered for legitimacy, credibility and legality before final selections are made. In any given application window, there might be no successful applicants.

If an entrant is found to be ineligible, an alternate winner may also be selected from the pool of eligible entries.

Non-Disparagement

You agree not to act in any manner which may reasonably reflect unfavourably upon the good name, goodwill, reputation or image of the sponsor or any other applicant, and will not make, or cause to be made, any statements, observations, or opinions, or communicate any information (whether oral or written), that disparages or is likely in any way to harm the reputation of the sponsor or any other applicant, its products, customers, users and/or business partners, except that nothing contained in these Terms and Conditions will be deemed to prohibit any party from testifying truthfully under oath pursuant to any lawful court order or subpoena or otherwise responding to or providing disclosures required by law.
