Put it in the cloud. Buy it as SaaS. Let somebody else worry about it.
It was convenient. It was fast. And, most of the time, it made perfect sense.
But convenience has a habit of becoming a dependency.
The winds are genuinely changing. Across the enterprises we work with at Tyk, SaaS is no longer the automatic answer. Organisations are taking another look at what they outsource, what they control and where the risks really sit.
Because the risks have changed.
Geopolitics can turn a supplier decision into a jurisdiction problem. Regulation is forcing businesses to ask who can access their systems, not simply where their data is stored. And AI is creating a new dependency chain across applications, gateways, model providers, cloud platforms and governments.
This is not an argument for dragging everything back on-premises.
It is an argument for asking better questions.
